Bronson Medical Group has an excellent opportunity for an Internal Medicine Board Certified/Board Eligible physician to join our existing physician group for the inpatient services at our facilities located in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, MI. Coverage for both hospitals may be required on a rotating schedule of days, weekends and nights. Weekends are required. Bronson has an affiliation with Western Michigan Medical School so physicians may round with residents. Hospital-employed. Full-time with flexible scheduling. Qualifications include prior completion of a residency in Internal Medicine; Family Medicine candidates may be considered if Board Certified with minimum 2 years inpatient hospital medicine experience; Current and Unrestricted State Medical License as MD/DO and DEA Licensure; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient-centered care. Responsibilities include diagnosing illnesses, prescribing and administering treatment, examining patients, obtaining medical histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, counseling patients on preventive healthcare, hygiene and diet. Must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required. Current Medical License in Michigan, DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration required. Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges. Knowledge of professional medical principles, pharmacological agents, effective communication skills, and professional conduct required. Work involves mental/visual fatigue, standing/walking, lifting light-weight objects, assisting with heavier tasks such as moving patients. Provides medical patient care, educates patients on wellness and prevention, determines referrals and urgency of follow-ups, exercises final medical judgment, prescribes treatment and drugs, orders tests and ancillary services, documents services, reviews long term cases, consults with Medical Director and staff, participates in process improvement and education programs, oversees mid-level and nursing clinical staff, assists in resolving complaints, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates commitment to outstanding customer service.
