This position is for a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist in Washington, D.C. The therapist will provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. The role requires experience in a neonatal or pediatric intensive care unit (NICU/PICU) setting and involves a rotating day/night schedule with every other weekend required. A strong emphasis is placed on patient-centered care and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
- Providing respiratory care to pediatric patients in a Level I Trauma Center, specializing in NICU/PICU.
- Assessing patients' respiratory status and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Administering respiratory treatments and medications.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and documenting findings in the electronic medical record (Cerner).
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Rotating between day and night shifts, with every other weekend required.
- Floating to meet facility needs within scope of practice.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (preferably in pediatrics, but experienced therapists from other disciplines are considered).
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- At least 3 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Experience in NICU/PICU settings.
Special Considerations:
- On-call is not required.
- Floating within the facility is required to meet needs. No floating to sister facilities.
- Block scheduling is open to consideration.
- Restricted Return to Office (RTO): Maximum of one week, requiring an additional week to compensate.
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week, with option for 48 hours (no overtime until after 48 hours).
- Must have a child-friendly uniform (any scrub color, no logos).
- Parking costs vary based on shift: approximately $100/month for nights and $150/month for rotating day/night shifts (off-site). Nights only may park onsite for approximately $50/month.
