Our work involves providing independent oversight of Amtrak’s programs, preventing and detecting fraud, waste, and abuse, and informing decision-making at various levels. Summary of Duties The Director/Sr Director oversees multidisciplinary teams conducting independent, GAGAS-compliant performance audits of Amtrak programs and operations. Responsibilities include assessing efficiency, effectiveness, internal controls, and compliance with laws and policies. The role involves managing audit resources, ensuring quality, and fostering employee development. Essential Functions Assist in developing goals aligned with the OIG’s mission. Plan and supervise performance audits, setting priorities and objectives. Deliver quality audit products to improve Amtrak’s operations. Contribute to the annual work plan based on risk assessments. Manage, develop, and evaluate staff and consultants. Build effective relationships with stakeholders and promote teamwork. Support staffing, recruitment, and organizational improvements. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields from an accredited institution. At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in evaluations or audits per GAGAS standards. 5+ years in managing and developing personnel. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Federal Inspector General laws and practices. Master’s degree preferred. Familiarity with passenger rail operations. Experience in the accountability community, such as OIG or GAO. Professional certifications like CPA, CISA, PMP, CFE. Experience with data analytics in audits. Compensation and Benefits The salary range is $182,412 - $238,422, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement plans, paid time off, and more.
