SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Director of Digital Technologies Systems Design & Development - Payments serves as an expert in managing and engineering payment products and related customer experiences. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight of payment products across all technology functions to support business objectives. The director designs and automates payment processes, addresses daily issues, anticipates industry trends, and delivers secure solutions in collaboration with stakeholders across technology and business units.
The director may oversee multiple technology products and services, managing budgets, and ensuring optimal investment utilization. Responsibilities include initiating, elaborating, constructing, transitioning, and maintaining services and products. The role involves managing teams of employees and contractors, ensuring effective communication among team members, business partners, and customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and manage the payment product roadmap, strategy, and execution of payment flows from user experience to vendor integrations and infrastructure.
Oversee program delivery and manage stakeholder relationships for payment services and products.
Coordinate with vendors, cross-functional teams, and business partners to ensure timely, cost-effective project execution.
Maintain the technology stack for the payment ecosystem.
Manage client engagements and service agreements.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, data security standards, and PCI DSS related to payment services.
Manage SLAs, drive new features, and oversee continuous improvement of payment products.
Focus on increasing payment options, scalability, reliability, and fraud mitigation.
Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor payment system performance.
Establish governance and control structures for effective decision-making.
Foster collaboration among stakeholders for project scoping and resource decisions.
Report on financial performance and forecasts for executives and regulators.
Identify and manage dependencies across organizational and vendor teams.
Support annual planning and project sequencing with relevant data.
Identify process improvements and present recommendations.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Extensive experience with payment gateways, processors, and digital payments.
Strong understanding of financial transaction processing systems.
Interest in payment product design.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder expectations.
Strategic thinking combined with tactical execution skills.
Experience with cross-functional product development teams.
Independent leadership in a matrix organization.
Customer service orientation.
Attention to detail and efficiency.
Prioritization and task execution under pressure.
Leadership experience managing diverse teams and influencing executives.
Proven success in launching IT projects on time and within budget.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related, with 13+ years of experience.
12-15 years of relevant technical and managerial experience.
Management of teams of 10-15 members.
5+ years in payment platforms/products at an enterprise level.
Experience in IT software engineering in consumer payments.
3+ years in Agile product development.
Experience with large, real-time 24/7 IT operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Onsite office environment.
Up to 30% travel required.
On-call availability.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
