Description SAIC is looking for a skilled and experienced Journey Level
CNC Machinist in
Crane, IN to join our manufacturing team in support of the U.S. Navy.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO: \n - Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to produce precision parts according to specifications.
\n - Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
\n - Advanced level CNC programming of CNC machines using Mastercam and other programming languages.
\n - Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
\n - Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications, using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
\n - Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to achieve desired results.
\n - Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
\n - Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
\n - Keep accurate records of production runs, including setup times, cycle times, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications REQUIREMENTS \n - High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining or related field preferred.
\n - Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start.
\n - Must be a U.S. citizen.
\n - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC machinist, with journey-level proficiency.
\n - Proficient in operating and programming CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
\n - Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages, including Mastercam.
\n - Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
\n - Experience with various types of CNC machines, including lathes and mills.
\n - Knowledge of CAD and Wire/Sinker EDM systems.
\n - Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
\n - Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
\n - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
\n - Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
\n - Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret level clearance.
